ST MICHAEL'S JUNIOR SCHOOL
St Michael's Junior School is a Church of England school,
with strong links with St Michaels' Church
attending events within the Christian Calendar
and following Christian values and ethos.
RUSHMOOR MALE VOICE CHOIR
We are proud that the Rushmoor Male Voice Choir (RMVC) has interesting and
long-standing links with St. Michael’s Church.
It was founded by Geoff Waller in 1960.
Colin Wilson, who was a staunch member of St. Michael’s,
joined the choir during its early stages, and
was its Musical Director throughout the eighties and nineties.
Then Stephen Petch took over from Colin in 2001.
As a boy, Stephen attended St. Michael’s with his parents,
and became Head Choir Boy.
When he was married in this church the ‘Odd Fellows’ sang at his wedding,
and also at the wedding of Colin and Julia’s daughter, Rosalind.
More recently they sang at Colin’s funeral here.
At present four members of the choir are from the church -
Peter Southon, Ian Wilder, Rodney Court and Paul Phelps,
who has been a member for many years.
Julia Wilson is our pianist at St Michael's services
and cherishes this loving connection between St Michael's and RMVC.
During its 62 years the choir has raised many thousands of pounds for charities and local causes.
